KaKa Ruan
Co-Founder & Lead Designer
Having systematically studied fine arts and design since high school and continuing the design major at university, KaKa has long been devoted to jewelry form, wearable elegance, and contemporary aesthetic expression.
Her journey with jadeite began in 2014, leading her to launch her own jadeite business in 2015. Through years of hands-on industry experience, she developed deep expertise in gemstone sourcing, design, client communication, and final piece execution. In 2019, she entered the e-commerce space to explore digital-first brand storytelling for fine jadeite jewelry.
As Co-Founder of RUAǍALI in 2020, KaKa set out to reimagine jadeite through a younger, modern, and design-forward perspective. In 2024, she earned her Certified Jadeite Gemologist credential, allowing her to oversee every brand creation with both a designer's eye and professional technical expertise.
Niki Liu
Co-Founder & Head of Jadeite
Niki's passion for jadeite stems from her family legacy - her father is a 38-year industry veteran who introduced her early on to gemstone selection, quality assessment, craftsmanship techniques, and market evaluation.
In 2015, she formally began studying under her father while pursuing a degree in Jewelry Design at university. This dual path shaped her holistic understanding of jadeite - spanning raw stone quality, structural jewelry engineering, and final presentation. Since then, she has been intimately involved in sourcing, design development, prototyping, master-carver collaboration, and quality supervision, alongside crafting bespoke pieces for private clients.
Niki entered the e-commerce industry in 2017 and established her own domestic store in 2019. In 2020, she co-founded RUAǍALI alongside KaKa, later spearheading the brand's global cross-border expansion. In 2024, she earned her GIC Certified Jadeite Gemologist certification from the Gemmological Institute of China University of Geosciences. Combining generational wisdom, a design foundation, and accredited gemological precision, Niki ensures the exceptional quality of every RUAǍALI piece.
